WHAT THE PARADOX DEMO SHOWS

Every xanapage is assembled from its sources

at the time it is opened, pulling in the live quotations.

These live quotations are called transclusions.

We show their source connections in orange.

In this demo we show the page called

"The Jefferson Paradox" and its source text.

THE PARADOX: Thomas Jefferson wrote

  in the Declaration of Independence

that "all Men are created equal", yet he owned

many slaves and had children by one of them.

THE SOURCE TEXT

By default, every user has a textfile to which

the user's new input is appended.

We call it a permascroll, as it never changes

  except for getting longer.

Each portion of "The Jefferson Paradox"

is taken live from the permascroll,

  in the sections shown here.

  We show transclusions in orange.

To highlight the irony of allowing his

slave children to escape, we transclude "Liberty"

  to the end.
