=== FIRST,

Download the contents of this zip file into a directory anywhere you like, with any name you like. (Except: it will not run properly from a memory stick.)

SECOND,

Open the internal directory called "Program". In that you will find a lot of stuff. Look for "AcceptLicense.exe".

TO FIRE UP THE DEMO,

double-click on "AcceptLicense.exe". Note that this constitutes your acceptance of the poetic, eloquent, humorous and Draconian license that follows these instructions, as well as starting the demo.

=== USER COMMANDS ARE AS FOLLOWS

  (explained below-- so you can try them experimentally if you prefer)

NOTHING ELSE WILL WORK. This is a prototype :(

c next connection down

e next connection up

f go right, making the companion page on the right into the current page

s go left, making the companion page on the left into the current page

arrow keys left, right-- fly sideways

arrow keys up, down-- fly forward and back

mouse with right key down-- turn camera and direction of flight

=== EXPLANATION

The document called "Origins", written by Moe Juste (a pseudonym), has eleven pages.

The two in front are called the Current Page (big type, the one you're presumed to be reading), and the Companion Page (smaller type).

The current connection is on a Current Line in space (unfortunately not marked). You can find the Current Line by lining up two matching pink paragraphs. Where they are is the Current Line in space. Keep your eye on that line as you step through the connections.

Stepping to the next connecton (pressing "c" or "e") puts the next connection on the Current Line-- moving the current page up or down and swinging another Companion Page into place.

=== TWO TYPES OF CONNECTIONS

The pink connections are transclusions (same content in different places), showing the origin of quotations.

The grey connections are xanalinks (two-way or multiway straps of different types), representing a variety of relations between pages and documents. These do not currently show as well as transclusions.

(End of directions.)
